Cotswolds Garden - FAQs
Frequently asked gardening related questions
A living fence is a boundary created from live plants, rather than inert materials like wood or wire. In permaculture, living fences serve multiple functions beyond just demarcation: they can provide food (edible hedges), act as windbreaks, create habitat for wildlife, stabilise soil, filter dust, and provide privacy. They are a low-cost, self-repairing, and ecologically beneficial alternative to conventional fencing, often composed of thorny or dense shrub species to provide security.
