Repot every 2-3 years in late winter or early spring, just before growth starts. Remove the tree from its pot and trim back any circling or dead roots. Replant into a slightly larger pot with fresh loam-based compost. If you don't want to go bigger, root prune and replace 25-50% of the compost to refresh nutrients. Water well after repotting.
