Bare patches are common in UK lawns due to foot traffic, pets, or weather stress. The best time to repair bare patches in your lawn is in spring (March-May) or early autumn (September).
Start by raking out dead grass and loosening the soil. Sow UK-appropriate grass seed, such as a mix of perennial ryegrass and fescues, and cover lightly with compost or topsoil. Water gently and regularly until germination (typically 7-14 days). DO NOT allow the seeded area to dry out. Avoid walking on the area until the new grass is well established.
