Should I prune calla lilies?

Calla lilies benefit from light pruning. You should deadhead spent flowers by cutting them off at the base of the stem to encourage new blooms and prevent the plant from wasting energy on seed production. Remove yellowing or damaged leaves with sterile scissors. Avoid cutting healthy foliage during the growing season, as the leaves help replenish the rhizome's energy. In autumn, cut back the plant completely once all foliage has naturally died back.
