Frequently asked gardening related questions

When and how should I prune my rose bushes?

Pruning is essential for healthy growth and abundant blooms. The best time to prune most rose varieties is in early spring, just as new buds begin to swell. Remove dead, damaged, or crossing branches and cut back remaining healthy stems to about 1/3 of their original height. Always prune just above an outward-facing bud to encourage open, outward growth. Clean, sharp pruners reduce damage and prevent disease spread.
