It is crucial to dispose of diseased rose material (leaves, stems, flowers affected by black spot, rust, powdery mildew, canker, or virus) correctly to prevent the spread of pathogens. Do NOT put it in your home compost bin, as fungal spores and viral particles can survive and re-infect your garden. The best way to dispose of it is by burning (if permitted and safe), bagging it up for landfill waste, or taking it to a municipal green waste recycling centre that processes material at high temperatures.
