Premature browning of rose flowers can be caused by several factors. Late spring frosts can scorch delicate buds. Thrips feeding inside buds can prevent them from opening properly, causing browning and distortion. Botrytis (grey mould) thrives in damp, humid conditions, causing buds and petals to rot and turn brown. Insufficient water during hot weather can also cause petals to crisp. Ensure adequate watering, good air circulation, and manage pests/diseases appropriately.
