A well-fed rose is generally more vigorous and better able to resist pests and diseases. Signs your rose might need feeding include stunted growth, pale or yellowing leaves (chlorosis), or poor flowering. Use a balanced rose fertiliser specifically designed for flowering plants, as excessive nitrogen can lead to soft, disease-prone growth. Apply according to package directions, typically in spring and again after the first flush of flowers, to support strong, healthy growth which naturally improves resistance.
