Cotswolds Garden - FAQs
Frequently asked gardening related questions
Magnolias generally prefer a rich, well-drained, fertile soil that is slightly acidic to neutral (pH 5.0-6.5). They thrive in loamy soils with plenty of organic matter. Heavy clay soils can be improved with grit and organic matter to enhance drainage, while very sandy soils benefit from added compost to improve water retention and fertility. Avoid highly alkaline soils, which can lead to nutrient deficiencies.
