Colour in the garden between February and June/July

The latest Sarah Raven catalogue dropped through the letterbox this morning. Over 100 pages of beautiful tulips, alliums, bulbs, plants, seedlings, garden products and things for the house and home.

And this got me thinking. Does anyone have a suggestion for a combination of three bulbs that will provide reliable and vibrant colour in the garden from February through to June or July? Ideally, I?m looking for varieties that flower in succession - something that starts early, another that carries the colour into spring, and a third that bridges into early summer. I?d love recommendations that are easy to grow, work well together visually, and thrive in partial sun.

My immediate thought was snowdrops, crocus and either tuples or alliums.
What would you choose?
