Frequently asked gardening related questions
In permaculture, a "guild" is a symbiotic grouping of plants and other organisms (like fungi or insects) that work together to support a central element, usually a fruit tree. Each member of the guild performs a specific function beneficial to the whole, such as nitrogen fixation, nutrient accumulation from deep roots, pest deterrence, attracting pollinators, or providing living mulch. This creates a self-supporting mini-ecosystem, mimicking natural plant communities.
