Frequently asked gardening related questions

How and when should I prune a fig tree?

Prune fig trees in late winter or early spring (Feb-Mar) when the plant is dormant. Remove any dead, damaged, or crossing branches, and shorten strong new shoots to 4-6 buds to encourage fruiting. In summer, pinch out the tips of new shoots to improve air circulation and sunlight penetration. Avoid pruning too late in the season, as it can remove developing fruit and reduce next year's crop.
