Frequently asked gardening related questions

Can I aerate a lawn that has recently been seeded or laid with turf?

A newly seeded or turfed lawn is delicate and should be left to establish for at least 6 to 12 months before any aeration.

Early aeration can disturb young roots and damage the soil structure, delaying lawn development. Wait until the turf has rooted firmly into the soil and has been mown several times.

Light surface aeration can be considered after the lawn has become well-established, particularly if you notice early signs of compaction. Until then, focus on proper watering, mowing, and feeding to promote healthy root growth.
