Frequently asked gardening related questions

Should I mow the lawn before or after aeration?

You should mow your lawn before aerating to a moderate height (around 4-5 cm). This helps you see the soil surface more clearly and ensures better penetration of the aeration tool.

Avoid cutting the grass too short, as stressed turf may struggle to recover post-aeration. After aerating, hold off on mowing for at least a week, especially if you've applied seed or top dressing.

This gives the lawn time to recover and reduces the risk of disturbing new seedlings or compacting the soil again. Always mow when the soil is dry to prevent further compaction.
