When and how should I fertilise my lawn in the UK?

Fertilising is key to a lush UK lawn. Apply a spring/summer fertiliser in April or May to promote green, vigorous growth. In September or October, switch to an autumn lawn feed high in potassium to strengthen the grass for winter. Avoid fertilising during drought or frost. Use a spreader for even application and always follow the manufacturer's guidance. Feeding 2-3 times per year is usually sufficient for UK conditions, but high-use lawns may benefit from more frequent feeding.
